History of Two Creeks AFS, WI

Manned by the 700th AC&W Squadron, this site was operational in 1956 with an AN/TPS-1D medium-range search radar. Budget cuts in 1957 forced the closure of this station. The site was then used by the Army during the 1958-1960 time frame as a Nike missile early-warning radar installation (CM-01R) using an AN/FPS-36 search radar. The Air Force reactivated this site as a gap-filler radar annex in Aug 1959. The AN/FPS-18 gap-filler radar was deactivated in June 1968.
