SM-164 Z-164   866 Tonopah AFS (SAGE), NV FPS-7C; FPS-90 (2) FPS-7C; FPS-90 June 1961 * 30-Sep-70 * SAGE radar site for 866th Radar Squadron; earlier AC&W Squadron manually operated radar at a site near town. After site closure, a radome at the GATR site housed a Soviet radar called ''BARLOCK'' used during RED FLAG training exercises.

Site *might* then have been transferred to NASA and became the Beatty Radar Tracking Station, located atop Springdale Mountain (north of town). The 1955 CONAD History document lists site SM-164A as Goldfield, NV.
