P-42     663 Lake City AFS, TN AN/CPS-6B; FPS-10 (2); FPS-6   Jun-52 01-Jun-61 Radar site was located on the summit of Cross Mountain, west of town of Lake City, near Briceville. A tramway was used to reach the mountain top.
P-42A / M-111F       Aquone, NC         Gap-Filler Annex. Never operational, reportedly.
P-42B       London, KY         Gap-Filler Annex. Reportedly never activated. Location is speculative; possibly was on Raccoon Mountain / Cutoff Knob (which is the highest point in the county).
P-42C / M-111G       Melvin Hill, NC FPS-18   ** ** Gap-Filler Annex. ** Reportedly, was briefly operational; however, ADC listed no dates. Located alongside SR 1353, Radar Road. Became an annex of Marietta AFS (M-111) in 1961; was declared excess in 1962.

Current Use: Radar site is abandoned. Cantonment area is owned and occupied by a coal company (barracks have been removed, though). Housing units are occupied.
