Spring 2002 photos and notes by Tom Page

The old gap-filler radar building as viewed from the northeast. From a distance, with vehicles next to the building, the facility had the appearance of being a private residence now; however, this proved not to be the case. In this view, the radar section was on the right (north), and the diesel-generator wing was on the left (east). [looking southwest]

The same basic view as in photo #1, but through a 135-mm semi-telephoto lens (all other photos in this series are through a 55-mm "normal" lens). This view was made from a point slightly further north than the first photo.

Self-explanatory

The main radar-equipment section of the building. The radar-tower foundations are visible to the left (north side). An add-on to the original building is seen at the far left (east). [looking southeast]

A close-up of the three radar-tower foundations / footings. [looking due south]

A view of the GFA facility from the southwest. The radar-equipment section is in the foreground, the radar-tower foundations are at the left (north), and the diesel-generator wing is at the right (pointing east). [looking northeast]

A view from the radar site looking along National Old Trails Road toward the southeast.
