The NATO Iceland Air Defense System, a ground-based, centrally controlled air defense surveillance and weapons control system developed by Raytheon, was accepted by NATO in 1998. Here U.S. Air Force personnel monitor radar surveillance data at the Control and Reporting Center at the Naval Air Station in Keflavik, Iceland.
