Recent Photos of Brookfield GATR, OH

The GATR site reportedly was kept in operation for some number of years after the 662nd Radar Squadron itself transferred to Oakdale, when the long-range radar site at Brookfield was converted to a gap-filler radar facility.

It is clear which two buildings comprised the original manual AC&W ground/air/ground (G/A/G) Radio facility. Regarding the SAGE-era GATR site, though, it is not clear (to me) whether both buildings were used for Voice Radio and Time-Division Data Link (TDDL) operations, or only one. If only one, then which one? Seemingly, if just one, then the larger (Transmitter?) building on the west side would have been converted for SAGE communications, as such was done at other sites. However, some radar sites` GATR facilities continued using both radio sites, with TDDL and Voice Radio Transmitters in one, and Voice Radio Receivers in the other. I`d have to say that there`s a 50-50 chance either configuration might have been used.

Does anyone know? Thanks!
