Site History and Findings of Fact

Two Creeks Air Force Station

The US Air Force acquired 19.32 acres in June 1956, and constructed a manned radar station consisting of 18 buildings, which included: four barracks, mess, recreation/training, administration, operations, general supply, technical supply, gate house, well/pump house, hose house, garbage shed, AIO storage shed, power building, motor maintenance shop, waste water treatment, radar tower, and mo-gas storage and pump facility.

The Air Force operated the manned radar station until it vacated it in 1961, and in May of that year 3.42 acres were reassigned from Two Creeks Air Force Station to Two Creeks Gap Filler Annex. The remaining 18.98 acres were declared excess to GSA in September 1961, and conveyed by quick-claim deed to a private party.

DOD removed several buildings and foundations after the site was vacated.

Gap Filler Annex

The Two Creeks Gap Filler Annex, an unmanned radar station consisting of one building and a radar tower, was built on .34 acres, with the other 3.08 acres being the access road and utility easement.

The GFA was vacated by the Air Force and excessed to GSA in April 1969, and conveyed to a private party in June 1970. The property was sold several times through the ensuing years and finally purchased in 1994 by a Mr. James Pope who developed it into a trailer park.
