Tower 4 Documentary Crew

By Chuck Zimmaro

Tower 4 has been visited by recreational divers who have mostly explored the wreck`s exterior and shallower areas over the years. However, for a dedicated group of technical divers, diving Tower 4 is not a recreational dive. It`s nearly 80 miles offshore in water almost 200 feet deep. The water is very cold, deep and dark. The currents are strong and multi-directional, and the seas are rarely calm. It takes a dedicated individual to come back expedition after expedition, year after year, to endeavor to gather data and to try to ascertain the cause of the Tower`s failure and to try to learn the exact fate of those brave men who died serving their country.

Engineer Joe Garcia III (foreground) and former US Navy SEAL Ed Emering (background) prepare for another data gathering dive deep inside the wreck of Tower 4.
