Site History and Findings of Fact

DOD acquired a total of 14.68 acres on August 18, 1958 for the Niobe Gap Filler Annex Z-28A. The gap filler was to support Minot Air Force Base. It was excessed to GSA on October 10, 1968, and conveyed by quitclaim on December 1970 to Delmer Christiansen, private landowners. The 60KW generator and equipment were originally to have been relocated to Tinker AFB, OK, but this action never took place, and the generator and related equipment was conveyed to the landowner along with the gap filler annex.

Current Use of Site at time of 1993 site visit *

The owner had removed the antenna tower, electrical equipment, 60 KW generator, and indoor aboveground storage tank. The concrete block operations building and chain link fence were observed to be in good condition and beneficially used by the current landowner. DOD-installed power lines were blown down during an ice storm about 10 years prior. Existing power lines installed subsequent to DOD use are beneficially used by the current landowner.
