My dad was stationed at Chandler AFS from 1960 to 1961. We lived the first year in Leota. Then we got base housing and I went to school in Chandler. We don`t have very many happy memories of Minnesota. At that particular time the people hated us because we were military trash and mormons. There was 1 business in Leota that would allow us in their store to do business. The kids at the little 2 room school in Leota would beat up the Air Force brats almost on a daily basis. It was a little bit better at Chandler since the majority of us were brats so there was strength in numbers. When Dad got orders to Tempelhof in Berlin, we jumped at the chance to get away from that area where the people were colder than the weather and the wind chill was -75 degrees.

He has pneumonia in his Right Lung but his lungs are not strong enough cause of his Emphesima to push it back out. They are giving him Morphine every hour about and treatments and he is on an oxygen mask. He has been really out of it the last day cause he has been asleep. Before yesterday he had not slept for 2 days and he still has not eaten. He is in Penobscot Valley Hospital, Maine in Room 117 in case anyone wants to know.
