8.   The only Air Force Station located on the highest point in its respective state was Bellefontaine AFS, OH (P-73 / Z-73), located at the top of Campbell Hill, elevation 1550’ msl.  Bellefontaine AFS was home to the 664th Radar Squadron until site closure in 1969.

[The short-lived data-tie site at Lynch, KY (Z-232) is sited near the top of Black Mountain, the highest point in Kentucky, elevation 4145’ msl; however, the radar tower (still in-use today) does not actually stand on the very top of the mountain, plus it was never an “Air Force Station” per se.]
