Site History and Findings of Fact

Establishment of Yuma Air Force Station began in June 1962 with purchase of 20.02 acres, and construction of a water tank, water conditioning equipment building, pump house, radar tower, maintenance shed, guardhouse, and installation of two 4,000 gallon diesel fuel tanks and fuel pumps.

Construction ceased in May 1965 with the facility being declared obsolete before completion. It was excessed to GSA and sold to Automatic Products Company, which conducts foundry and machining operations, in April 1966. Automatic Products was still the owner/occupant at the time the 1991 FUDS report was written and released.
