Site History and Findings of Fact

The Air Force acquired 4.44 acres from the Forest service on January 4 1958 and constructed an unmanned gap filler radar site consisting of a concrete block operations building, security fence, storm drainage disposal system, 70-foot antenna tower, access road, and underground storage tank. They operated the unmanned radar gap filler until 1960, when the property was conveyed back to the Forest Service.

Current Usage

At the time of the 1991 report, communications equipment and the radar tower had been removed, with the concrete building, tower supports, security fencing, and gravel access road remaining. The site was being used as a radio relay station by several state agencies through special use permit from the Forest Service. Radio equipment and a backup propane generator belonging to the current users was present on the site.
