Site Location

On a gravel access road app 1447 feet north and 500 feet west of the intersection of a private road leading to the site and Farm to Market Road No. 956, app 1.25 miles west of Highway 77,and 7 miles north of Schulenburg, Fayette County, TX

Site History and Findings of Fact

The U.S. Government acquired 4.92 acres from Mr. and Mrs. Otto Jochen on Jan 29, 1957, and constructed the unmanned gap filler radar, which included one small building, metal tower with concrete support pillars, an access road, and a boundary security fence. The lease was terminated on December 8, 1961, with the building, access road, boundary fence and concrete pillars turned over to the original owners.

Current Use of Site at time of FUDS Report

The building is still intact and is used by the owner for storage of livestock feed. The concrete pillars are situated on the west side of the building and the tower has been removed. The access road is in poor condition.
