Site History and Findings of Fact

The Air Force acquired the 0.25 fee acre site on Oct 1955 with the intent of constructing and operating an unmanned gap filler radar station. Construction was never initiated and the property was conveyed back to the City of Oroville on Jan 6 1965.

At the time of the 1991 report, a new chain link fence paralleling Larkin road crossed the site. It is 20 ft from the road. A gravel road with an asphalt driveway crosses the site in a northwest-southeast direction, and gives access to the south end of the airport. Gateposts located about 40 ft from Larkin Road remain on the gravel road, but the gate was removed around 1990.
