Cordova Airlines brought in mail, etc. on a scheduled basis. Some personnel, such as myself, came in on their DC-3. I left on a C-123. On the C-123 we wore fatigues and a parachute! The photo with the 1st Sgt didn`t show it but he had a .45 auto. I never did know if that was to keep us off the aircraft or someone on the aircraft off the island.
