Findings of Fact, Site Location, and Information on Lovelock Gap Filler Annex SM-156C based on information provided by US Army Corps of Engineers Formerly Used Defense Site (FUDS) J09NV0857 of 1991

Site Location

In Pershing County, between Kodak and Woolsey on the west side of Highway 40, 6 miles northeast of Lovelock, Nevada

Site History and Findings of Fact

DOD acquired 0.26 easement acres from the Southern Pacific Land Company on Nov 5, 1956. It is unknown whether any improvements were made to the site, as records did not indicate what the improvements were. The 0.23-acre interests were terminated on April 229, 1960.

* Note: the FUDS report states the site was used as an unmanned radar gap filler station ,and that the primary installation for this site was Fallon Naval Air Station. It also states the information in the following paragraph:

A 1991 site visit report revealed that a former FAA employee has lived near the site and resided in the town of Lovelock since the 1960s, and may have information regarding it. He was contacted and said he was unaware of the existence of the site near his home. He was visited during the site inspection and accompanied the two people conducting the site visit. They inspected the property by vehicle and on foot and found no evidence of the site.
