App six miles northeast of Greensburg, Decatur County, Indiana,

Site History and Findings of Fact

Site was built and completed in 1960, but never made operational. It was declared excess to GSA in 1969. Conveyed to Linder Machinery Co in 1971. The radar tower radome was removed, with the operations building and fencing used by the current owner for storage.

Note: When I visited the site in July 2004, I spoke with the owner of the adjacent farm who said he had resided there since before the GFA was built. He stated in no uncertain terms that the radar tower was never erected, and no equipment was ever installed. -- Tom Page
