Gettysburg AFS, SD Winter Scenes

Winter of 66-67, showing how nasty the weather was; guys holding onto the rope that was strung up from the barracks to chow hall to the towers, playing softball in our Arctic parkas, and just trying to get along in that winter waste-land. I remember that later in the winter the snow blew so much it drifted over the top of the security fence that surrounded the towers - you could walk right in over the top of the snow.

The rope is for use in whiteout conditions, or simply to have something to grab hold of to help get around in the wind.

Guys find a way for some fun, even when it`s below zero.

Some guys will play, regardless of the weather!
