Memorial marker for Roswell-Merritt Field, Fort Fisher AFS, NC. This softball field was dedicated in 1967 when the Commanding Officer was Col. Brookbank, an avid softball player.

Lt. Roswell was killed in an auto accident near Norfolk; A2C Merritt died when he lost control of his car on a curve in Kure Beach, NC.
