Site Location

On Fairview Peak, approximately 26 miles southeast of the city of Cottage Grove and approximately 47 miles southeast of the city of Eugene, Lane County, OR

Site History and Findings of Fact

A total of 8.89 acres of land were acquired for the Disston Gap Filler Annex.

The site, located on Fairview Peak, was used by the Air Force as a radar facility from 1960 to 1965. Improvements on the site included three structures and a 20,000-gallon underground storage tank.

A Declaration of Excess was approved on 21 July 1965, and the site was transferred to the US Forest Service in 1966.

Current Use of Site at time of FUDS Report

The former Disston Gap Filler Annex is now used as a fire lookout
