The original Joint Surveillance System (JSS) plans for Cape Charles AFS, VA, called for the site to be replaced by the FAA long-range radar site at Binns Hall, VA (instead of the eventual replacement, Oceana NAS, VA). The Binns Hall FAA site, which operates an ARSR-3 radar, is located at latitude 37-22-58.2 N and longitude 076-59-55.5-W.
