EVEN MORE CAMPION MEMORIES

Some of my Campion AFS memories include:

The Green Lizard Lounge, home of the Campion Green Lizard. (An awful bar drink used to initiate new arrivals.)

Awarding those new arrivals the Buick Award when they regained consciousness.

Radar Maintenance troops were the party animals.

The weekend they took everything from the Commander`s office and orderly room and set it up in the gym.

The "Campion Hilton"

Herman, the site dog.

Having a fire drill at about one in the morning and being told to evacuate in 40 below weather. (Most folks had not brought their cold weather gear as instructed. It got the point across!)

The drug search that bagged our baker. They promptly removed him from the site and we had no baked goods for weeks.

The chow hall being open all the time for coffee and drinks and nearly always finding someone in there.

"Mitch" the civilian Civil Engineering guy who owned almost all of Galena (Liquor store, Bulldozer, Airplane, etc)

Mail Call: The best part of the day.

The young Ops troop who everyone played jokes upon. (Actually, every site had one of these!)
